Hospital Clínica Benidorm is carrying out rapid COVID-19 antibody detection tests on all members of the organization, in its hospital center in Benidorm and in its medical centers in El Albir, Moraira, Calpe and Alicante.
In addition to conducting tests on all staff, Hospital Clínica Benidorm, through its Preventive Medicine Service, has implemented a protocol so that the progressive return to normality in which all HCB centers are already involved is safe for everyone; patients, users and employees. The protocol consists of several areas of action: outpatient consultations, operating rooms, diagnostic tests and emergencies (in all of the external centers).
In the outpatient clinic, areas have been signposted and adapted to maintain the safety distance. Consultations are being offered with more time between patients to decrease the flow of people within the hospital and minimize the chances of exposure.
In addition, Hospital Clínica Benidorm has hydro alcoholic gel dispensers in all the areas of its centers with posters illustrating how to properly proceed with Hand Hygiene. In all bathrooms there are also specific signs for proper hand washing. (This line of work on Hand Hygiene has been running for the past four years from our Preventive Medicine Service).
For operating rooms and diagnostic tests, a specific protocol has been established for all patients who are going to undergo surgery or undergo any type of procedure. All patients are previously informed of the necessary steps to comply with this protocol. The cleaning and disinfection of the entire surgical area, which is already very exhaustive, has also been reinforced.
COVID-19 Preventive Consultation
To meet the growing demand of many of the HCB patients, the new COVID-19 Preventive Consultation has been organized to address their doubts and advise whether or not detection tests are necessary – and which type of tests. This will be available by appointment from Monday to Friday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Telephone Consultations and Patient Care
Alternatively, for patients who cannot move, we continue to offer the possibility of telephone consultations with certain specialties. The Emergency Service continues to work at full capacity with different input and service circuits between COVID and NON COVID patients while continuing with all the previous security measures.
